When you want to cancel a date like a true gentleman, or lady, the main thing is don’t make assumptions, make sure it’s legit and be nice about it.

The first thing is, you must have a legitimate reason, such as death, or an accident or dismemberment. If you’re just too busy, or you’ve worked too hard, or you’re kind of tired, that’s not going to cut it. Do you want to meet this person or not?

The next thing is you message the other person and say, can I talk to you, is, when is a good time to chat? Because you want to cancel this date by talking to the person in real life. People get assumptive when you’re texting the message, and it just takes a lot more courage, whether you’re a man or a woman, to actually call a person, in person, to cancel a date, or to reschedule.
